Ever since the occupation of Japan by American forces after World War II, modern Japanese comics (called mangas) have been heavily influenced by the comics and cartoons that the G.I. carried to Japan and introduced into the culture. Until then, Japanese hentai bodies were distinctly Japanese in size, shape and coloring. After the occupation a new body style emerged and had replaced the old body type, a change that is still reflected today in the modern comics and cartoons of Japan.
When the theme of a manga revolves around sex and sexual relations it is called ‘hentai’ (a Japanese word the means ‘sexually perverted’ when applied to materials). (more…)
